Sound Absorption Characteristics of Pineapple Leaf/Epoxy Composite

Natural fibres are attractive as the raw material for developing sound absorber, they green, eco-friendly, and health friendly. In this paper, pineapple leaf fibre/epoxy composite is considered in absorber development where several values of mechanical pressures were introduced during fabrication composite. The results show that can absorb incoming wave, absorption coefficients α _n > 0.5 pronounced at mid high frequencies. It also found 23.15 kN/m^2 pressure preferred, while higher leads to solid panel rather than so capability reduces. To extend towards lower frequency, requires thickness 3 cm, a thinner only effective 1 kHz above.
